Reflecting on One’s Own Behavior as a Learner: By mid-year in Patty Ferrant’s class, she asks students to recognize when they have not yet participated in class, and though she recognizes that “I can be hard on them,” she creates motivations for students who recognize their own reluctance to participate, so they can work to transform it.
