Grades 6–8: Pythagorean Theorem Proof 1

Many standards require the students to see or explain a proof of the Pythagorean Theorem. Traditional proofs are oftentimes difficult for students to understand, so the teacher shows a proof and considers the standard mastered.  Instead of reverting to “telling” them, use a concrete model to show why it is true.
