Grades 6–8: Area of a Circle

The area of a circle is unique to other shapes since it is round.  However, we can use another area, of a rectangle, to understand how to find the area of a circle. Watch what happens when a circle is divided into many smaller triangular-like segments.  It begins to resemble a rectangle (or parallelogram).
