Who can use the Inside Mathematics materials?

In general, you’re welcome to download the written materials on the site, to photocopy them, and to use them in your classroom or in educator professional development. Because supporting teachers and students is at the core of our mission, you don’t need to ask our permission to do these things.

Who owns the Inside Mathematics materials?

Materials on the Inside Mathematics site were authored by different leading mathematics education organizations, including:

Charles A. Dana Center at the University of Texas at Austin  

The site’s videos and any written materials bearing a copyright by the Charles A. Dana Center at The University of Texas at Austin or the Noyce Foundation can be used under the conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution, Non-Commercial, No Derivatives License 3.0.

The Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative   

SVMI materials on the Inside Mathematics site are published under a license from SVMI to the Dana Center.

SVMI materials on the Inside Mathematics website include the Problems of the Month, or POMs.

Any written materials bearing a copyright by the Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative can be used under the conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution, Non-Commercial, No Derivatives License 3.0.

The Shell Centre for Mathematical Education Publications Ltd. materials on the Inside Mathematics site are published under a license from Shell Centre Publications.

The Shell Centre materials on Inside Mathematics are primarily the MARS (Mathematics Assessment Resource Service) tasks, which are developed and owned by the Shell Centre for Mathematical Education, University of Nottingham, England.

Users of the Inside Mathematics website may use these MARS tasks for professional development purposes only. You may not change the MARS tasks.
