Polite Talk and Listening: By the third week of school, on Day 19, Patty Ferrant challenges students to not only be accountable for their own understanding but for that of their group members as well. She reminds students to “slow down and really think about what they’re saying,” after observing a student confuse the x-axis and y-axis in his response.
