Middle School: Making Sense of One’s Own and Others’ Learning

Clip 10/10: Day 158: Partner engagement in listening and sharing thinking

The View from Day 158: Moving into the last weeks of the school year, Patty Ferrant’s students can make sense of thinking in deeper and broader ways.

In eighth grade, students should be learning to deeply understand a problem and what it’s asking, and be able to explain their approach to a peer, ask for clarification, and make suggestions to other students for each other’s learning.

How do you notice your students’ sense-making changing over time?
