Clip 6/19: Day 2: Using questions to help students extend their thinking
Encouraging Perseverance: Mia establishes expectations for students’ pair work early on, and in her pair check-ins, encourages students to persevere and follow their lines of reasoning. Students might not be able to see for themselves early on how they can keep going if they are feeling stuck or confused. We need to model for them and encourage them in order to build this habit of mind.
